Manchu Manoj son of veteran legend Mohanbabu is all set to kick start his career in Kollywood with his bilingual flick 'Varuvaan Thalaivan' ('Oo Kodathara? Ulikki Padathara? In Telugu). The actor who has made mark for himself in Tollywood plans to hog limelight in Kollywood with this socio-fantasy film. Infact Manoj was to act in Vanam but backed out and Bharath donned the role later.
This bilingual film has a legend from Telugu in a prominent role and that is Balakrishna. Prabhu and Sonu Sood also play in the starcast of the film. Deeksha Seth is paired with Manoj for the film. The film is directed by Sekar Raja and produced by the Manchu family.
Ask Manoj about the film and the star pops-up to say that 'Varuvaan Thalaivan' is like 'Chandramukhi' with a dash of dark comedy.According to him, the movie has been made at Rs 26 Cr with a palace set alone that cost him Rs 6 Cr.
About his longlasting friendship with Simbu, he reckons, “Simbu and I have been close friends since school days. Then I had to move to Hyderabad in 2003.” And adds that he is ready to act with his friend in a multi-starrer film if script demands. High hopes envisage the actor walking on the footsteps of his predecessors from the gen next who have treaded into Kollywood from Tollywood.
