Mangalore students selected for state-level science exhibition
Two students from Carmel Girls’ High School in Modankap, Bantwal, who took part in the DK District Level Inspire Award for Science, organized the public instructions department and Regional Science Centre of Pilikula, have been chosen to take part in the state-level science exhibition.
An eye on MoonAccording to a press release issued by the school, the district-level event was held for students of higher primary schools and high schools on July 3 – 9 in Pilikula. A total of 2,076 science models were displayed on this occasion.
Dafny D’Souza’s model titled “An Eye on the Moon,” giving information on Chandrayana 2, won the prize. The student said that she began preparing the model in March with the assistance of Roshan Pinto, her science teacher.
Sowndharya’s science model titled “The Power of the Mighty Sun” was also chosen for the prize. It was a model on solar devices, in which she tried to show the benefits of using alternative sources of energy. She said that she began building the model 2 months back with the help of her parents.
