Janata Dal (Secular) leader H D Kumaraswamy today asked Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda to quit before presentation of the budget in the Assembly as his position was weakening.
Talking to reporters here, he said he had information that the Chief Minister would quit after the budget session.
'I have definite information that Mr Gowda has come to a compromise with the former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa that he would hand over the post to him. The deal was struck at a meeting with RSS leaders.
'If this information is true, it is better for Sadananda to quit before the budget session to clear the confusion prevailing in the BJP government,' he claimed.
Meanwhile, Mr Kumaraswamy claimed that he has records about former minister D K Shivkumar's involvment in illegal granite mining in Kanakpura and took part in a huge scam involving government-owned Mysore Minerals Ltd in Bellary. 'I will release the documents at the appropriate time,' he said.
He said JD(S) would reach an agreement with those political parties having real concern about the protection of interest of the farmers and common mass during the next election.
On the allegation that he too had indulged in illegal mining, the former Chief Minsiter said he was ready to face any investigation, including CBI probe.
He also disclosed that he would tour the parts of North Karnataka during April to propagate JD(S) and will hold direct interaction with the people.
