Two state ministers, who have been on a tour to Bangalore University Jnana Bharati campus, have compared the condition of the university to that of a patient at ICU. The minister said that the condition was so serious that the university needed a surgery. It has to be mentioned here that state government has no role to play in the universities as the Section 9 of Karnataka State Universities Act (2000) enumerates that only Governor can direct things at the universities.
The ministers have told Bangalore Wishesh that they knew they had no role to play in the universities. However, the situation at the university forced them to visit Jnana Bharati campus. The higher education minister CT Ravi has said that they (he and law minister Kumar) inspected kitchen to bathrooms and everything were worse here.
The Governor is yet to react on the issue.
