At least five students were killed at the school when the wall collapsed in Nayagarh district of Odisha. All of them were below six years. While two children died on the spot, the remaining three breathed last on their way to the hospital. This incident has sent across shock waves among the peopel in the village. Since all of them were little kids, everyone in the village broke into tears when they heard this news.
The district collector has said that it was a school building. The locals demanded stringent action on the authorities. Seven children are injured in the incident while the condition of two was said to be critical. The chief minister Naveen Patnaik, who responsed promptly, has announced Rs. 1 lakh exgratia to the kin of the deceased and assured that government would bear the medical expenses of the children.
