Governor invites Shettar to form Govt
Karnataka Governor, H R Bharadawaj has invited Jagadish Shettar to form the government as Sadananda Gowda offered his resignation to him. The official statement of Raj Bhavan has said that the Governor has accepted the resignation of Sadananda Gowda as the chief minister. However, the Governor asked Gowda to continue as the chief minister till Shettar forms the government. It may be noted that Sadananda Gowda has resigned as the chief minister today after ruling the state for 11 months. Earlier, the supporters of Sadananda Gowda tried to block the convoy of Sadananda Gowda in an attempt to stop Gowda from submitting the resignation.
When Sadananda Gowda was at Raj Bhavan to offer the resignation, a large number of Gowda's supporters stood outside Raj Bhavan. The police lifted them and brought the situation under the control.
